A well established mine is currently recruiting for a
Engineering Foreman (Mechanical Plant)
In the Northern Cape area
Position Purpose:
To ensure the Engineering reliability and availability of the Mines Residue Deposit (MRD) processes through effective maintenance by managing and supervising the resources available in a safe, effective and cost efficient way.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification or N3 in Engineering Studies
- Qualified Fitter or Plater Artisan with Trade Certificate at recognized/accredited institution
- 5 years post- apprenticeship experience as an Artisan is essential
- At least 3 years Plant experience – ensure this is indicated on your CV
- Supervisory Training and Qualification will be an advantage
- PC Literate in MS Office Suite
- Valid drivers’ license
Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation and adherence to the Mine’s Health Safety and Environmental COP’s, policies, procedures and legal requirements within area of responsibility
- Supervise and over-inspect subordinates daily activities, offer coaching and on the job training to ensure maintenance according to organisational standards
- Co-ordinate maintenance as well as statutory inspections and audits by internal and external service providers
- Ensure the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical repairs and installation work as required
- Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activity performance and availability of equipment
- Perform administrative duties to ensure and record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability
- Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any deviations
- Required to work overtime, do standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise
