You will need:

• Relevant section 13 Trade certificate of competence(MIETTB, Olifantsfontein or MQA registration)
• 5 years’ mining experience as an Engineering/ Mechanical Foreman
• Foreman certificate or equivalent if external.
• Code 8 driver’s license.
• Medical certificate of Fitness.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/outlook)
• English Proficiency.

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of pumps and Conveyor belts
• MS Project.

You will be required to:

• Ensure that engineering practices at the Mine complies with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, Mines and Works Act, and relevant Environmental legislation.
• Check and review technical correctness of standards regarding equipment and materials.
• Ensure appropriate risk assessment and hazard identification prior to major jobs.
• Monitor costs within approved parameters
• Conduct regular site visits
• Ensure staff is qualified to perform their job functions.
• Ensure that staffs perform their functions.
