EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
3 Year Diploma or Degree in Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering
Government Certificate of Competence will be an added advantage

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
5-8 years working experience in furnace industry or similar heavy industry experience
Extensive maintenance planning experience
Excellent management and communication skills
Ability to function effectively under pressure in a strong unionized environment and use of initiatives in problem solving

PRIMARY ROLE
To control and coordinate electrical and instrumentation activities within the company
To provide technical support to all engineering personnel in ensuring that the engineering department provides a fully function, effective and flexible workforce
To maintain high standard of workmanship

RESPONSABILITIES
Ensure that engineering personnel conduct all work in accordance with company safety, procedure and regulations
Ensure that all operations handling equipments are maintained to the highest possible standards’ in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and that of furnace availability is maintained at an optimum level
Implement and continually develop all necessary maintenance programs, systems and procedures to enable the department to function effectively
Authorise and monitor the purchase and issue of spare parts, consumables, lubricants, tools and equipments from engineering stores and supervise stock inventory level
Liaise closely with plant superintendents as to ensure minimum disruption to the operation
Collate all relevant information to compile regular comprehensive reports for the Engineering Manager, highlighting areas of concern where necessary
Ensure modification procedures are administered
Provide technical engineering support to projects from study phase thorough constriction and commissioning
Ensure engineering and technical support to company’s development work shall be provided to international standards for Ferro- Manganese industry using in-house resources or employing suitable consultants, contractors and suppliers
To provide technical support to all business area as may be required in order to achieve business objectives including but not limited to production targets, capital budgets, Environment and safety, etc.
Oversee technical and management development of the workforce
Development and optimization of preventative maintenance for all fixed site equipments
Liaise with management and other departments o ensure optimal production and seamless efficiency
Participate in the specification, purchase and installation of new machinery and equipment
