Description of Position

Dimensional control of the works. Establish co-ordinate systems and new survey points from existing survey control, and set-out, monitor and record on as-build’s all aspects of the works.
Works consist of Roads, earthworks, drainage and services.
A high degree of accuracy is required, and the candidate should be meticulous, and be able to keep thorough records, and have a good knowledge of the fundamentals of survey and setting-out.
Working with and provide service function to site engineers and site agents.

Skills/Experience/Education

Graduate N Dip or BTech surveying Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Very accurate setting-out of the works using Total Station and automatic level.
• Able to calculate co-ordinates from first principles, and generate new local co-ordinate systems as required.
• Able to carry out checks as necessary to verify the accuracy of the setting-out. Survey points control monitoring.
• Carry out as-built surveys, including presentation of as-build’s in CAD as necessary, and continuous surveys for movement monitoring.
• Able to carry out the necessary checks on survey equipment to ensure calibration is maintained.
• Must be able to work under pressure to service various work fronts in an effective manner.
• Ensures dimensional compliance on all aspects of construction.
• May also be required to learn to operate DGPS based setting-out equipment. Advises on technical interpretation of specification requirements.

This is position that requires travel and you will be required to work outside the country.
