JOB TITLE: Enrolled Nurses (Old Age Home)

REPORTS TO: Sister in Charge

LOCATION: Cape town

JOB PURPOSE: To manage the provision of primary health care function per shift in accordance with applicable legislation & agreed medical procedures whether the supervision and guidance of the Unit manager

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Matric Enrolled Nurse and SANC registered
3 Years in General Nursing experience and at least 1 year experience in frail care or Old Aged homes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that prescribed medication is administered correctly and timorously and within the guidelines of the Staff Nurse Scope of Practice.
Ensure that staffs perform their duties in accordance with policies and duties and their individual contracts of employment.
Recording of doctors instructions
Writing of day or night report
Handling of residence complaints in the correct manner
Ensures that the catering department is aware of all special dietary requirements and
supervises the serving of all meals on the shifts to ensure compliance with these

Must be able to communicate well with elderly
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work under pressure and as a team
