A Manufacturing Company in Nelspruit requires an experienced Environmental Officer from the Manufacturing or Mining Industry.

The job incumbent will co-ordinate and facilitate the effective implementation of programmes to achieve environmental compliance as it relates to the Company.

 

  • Facilitate Environmental compliance within the Company which will include the maintenance of the HSE Management system; the development and implementation of the Environmental Management Programme; the co-ordination of investigations and corrective actions; as well as the provision of environmental awareness.
  • Co-ordinate Environmental monitoring and measurement through use of various tools to ensure environmental compliance, some of these tools but not limited to include; development of procedures and protocols, inspection and audit tools, databases, identification of measuring tools and implementation of actions following monitoring and measurements results analysis to minimize the environmental impact.
  • Ensure compliance to relevant ISO Standards and related environmental international best practices which will include assistance in attaining the relevant certification.
  • Actively assess and manage environmental risk and propose mitigation measures, follow through to close out all environmental actions.
  • Co-ordinate the Integrated Waste Management activities Companywide, applying the cradle to grave principle.
  • Adhere and comply with all HSEQ legislation, policy and procedures at all times
  • Adhere to section cost control measures, leading to improved efficiencies.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Environmental Science/Environmental Management
  • Minimum of 3 Years’ environmental experience
  • Background experience in water management will be an added advantage
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation as well as root cause and data analysis
