Equity Analyst

Location: V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
Salary: R650k per annum negotiable

Requirements:
CFA Charter Holder / CA /B BusSci (or related degree)
2+ years’ experience as an Equity Analyst
FAIS experience with the necessary (RE5) Representative Regulatory Exam would be an
advantage.
MS Office (Advanced Excel, Power-point, Word, Outlook)
Working experience with Bloomberg or similar market software
Shows a passion and enthusiasm for Equity markets

Duties:
Investment process
Assists with refinements of the overall equity investment process
Prepare research and information for monthly and quarterly equity meetings
Assists with day-to-day portfolio management and administration of client portfolios
JSE listed equity investment research and idea generation
Monitoring portfolio mandate compliance
Stock broker and sell-side institutional research communication
Maintaining and updating investment universe
Updating and idea generation for House View portfolios
Client experience
Assists in improvement of overall SFEM client experience through external research
distribution and note preparation
Assisting with client meetings and reviews
Assists with client quarterly reporting process
Marketing
Assists with proposal generation
Assists in the preparation of marketing material
Portfolio review
Assists with ongoing client portfolio reviews
Prepares recommendations to portfolio manager(s)
Client interaction
Developing direct relationships with certain clients as deemed appropriate by the portfolio
manager(s)
Trading and execution
Assist with generation of portfolio implementation plans
Assist with design and implementation of new CRM and order management system
Placing and monitoring of certain trading activity
Ensure trading adheres to portfolio implementation plan and portfolio restrictions
