THE BOARDROOM-REFRESHING RECRUITMENT seeks a EVENTS & RESTAURANT COORDINATOR for our client, A luxury 5 * hotel to coordinate all restaurant and outlet reservations as well as handle all conference and event reservations. Previous banqueting coordinating experience within a 4/5 hotel paramount. If you meet the requirements below, then I would like to hear from you!Requirements Hotel School Diploma an advantageOpera Experience (PMS & Sales & Catering) - EssentialMicrosoft Office – Word & ExcelPrevious experience in Meetings & Events/ banqueting essentialCommunication: Talk to clients, listening to their needs and presenting ideas and solutions to their requirements. They also work with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time. Customer service and interpersonal skills are required.Calm Under Pressure: Need to remain calm during crisis and the high pressure of an event in progress.Computer Skills: Modern event planners rely on computers to communicate, plan, budget and organize their events.Negotiation Skills: Need negotiation skills to work out prices with clients and contractors.Organization: Need to stay focused and organized so that the event goes off without a hitch.Problem-Solving Skills: Inevitably, something will go wrong at an event. Being able to quickly solve the issue is required. Responsibilities liaising with clients to ascertain their precise event requirements;producing detailed proposals for events (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets);coordinating venue management, caterering, stand designers, contractors and equipment hire;organising facilities for car parking, traffic control, security, first aid, hospitality and the media;coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings;selling sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners;preparing delegate packs and papers;liaising with marketing and PR colleagues liaising with clients and designerscoordinating suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly;overseeing the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently; Apply along with your written references + photo in professional attire & CV in word format.We regret that due to high application volumes, only short listed candidates will be contacted.
