My client, a well-known and upmarket wine farm, is seeking to employ an Events / Function Manager. They are looking for a competent and experienced candidate to oversee the busy and thriving activities of a top Wine lands Estate.

The Events and function Manager will ensure events are successful and cost effective; paying particular attention to budget, time constraints, brand alignment, co-ordination between venues and outstanding service. Outstanding organizational and communication skills, meticulous planning skills and a passion for upmarket hospitality sector is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning events from start to finish according to business division requirement, target audience and objectives
  • Pre-event preparation and trouble shooting
  • Pro-active execution which will enhance the success of the event
  • Preparing budgets for events and ensuring they are adhered to or improved on
  • Effective intercompany co-ordination resulting in smooth event execution
  • Sourcing and negotiation with vendors and suppliers
  • Appointment and managing of all temporary events staff
  • Analyze the events success and provide detailed reports and feedback

Requirements:

  • A proven track record as an experienced Event Manager
  • Skilled in project management
  • Excellent communication ( fluent in English and Afrikaans) and negotiation skills
  • Computer literacy MS Office
  • Excellent classic cuisine and wine knowledge
  • A customer service driven individual
  • Experience in upmarket / fine dining Hospitality service
  • Qualification in Business management/ Hospitality management and/ or Project management
