Job Purpose:

To support business strategy by delivering events that enable networking opportunities that result in acquisition and retention of clients while building and maintaining a strong brand

Key Duties:

• Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in the company culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.)
• Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy)
• Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to the company.
• Ensure delivery of projects in line with deadlines and budgets by developing and managing event project plans
• Keep stakeholders informed on project progress through regular communication.
• Ensure compliance and mitigate risk by adhering to internal business processes (e.g. finance; procurement; contractual; approvals).
• Ensure a high level of service is maintained by reviewing service provider’s professional support.
• Ensure understanding and enable achievement of business objectives by developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Create buy-in of event concepts by influencing; advising and guiding internal stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment of event activities by collaborating across clusters.
• Maintain market competiveness by monitoring competitor event activity.
• Ensure continued improvement and client satisfaction by evaluating post event feedback.
• Meet business requirement by preparing proposed budget in line with the event objective.
• Optimise spend and get added value by researching; evaluating and negotiating with suppliers.
• Ensure budgets are adhered to and mitigate financial risk by monitoring and controlling spend
• Enable measurement of Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) by conducting post event analysis and reconciliation.
• Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing the Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.

• Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
• Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
• Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
• Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.

Essential Qualifications:
• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Diploma
• Bachelor of Arts: Marketing

Minimum Experience:
3 - 5 years experience in event management
