RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced EXECUTIVE CHEF for a well-established concern in the Umhlanga area.


REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
Apex and Pluspoint knowledge will be highly advantageous.
Chef’s tertiary qualification is desirable.
3yrs+ previous hotel kitchen experience as a Chef (working through the levels of the kitchen brigade).
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and telephonic.
Required to work in ala carte, pastry, buffet restaurant, production, breakfast and cold kitchen sections.
Ensures the smooth running of the section as per the General Managers instructions and in accordance to the hotel’s standards.
Must be able to prepare baked goods, desserts, and pastries.
Must continue to learn new recipes and test them in the kitchen to keep the menu up to date and interesting to draw customers.
Must be able to create a dessert menu, items in particular must be visually appealing and tempting in order to encourage customers to purchase.
Checks daily activities as per function sheets and receives notification of the other activities from the General Manager.
Responsible for all hygiene requirements and to report any problems in this area to the General Manager.
Check their department on a daily basis for any maintenance that may be needed e.g. faulty equipment, cracked tiles, water and plumbing, electrical faults, etc. and report these to the General Manager.
Must ensure that they are in correct uniform and that they comply with hotel standards.
Person must be able to work overtime when required.


Salary package offered: - R21 000-00 per month (CTC)
