Our client in the restaurant industry requires the service of an experienced Executive Chef.

Key performance areas:

? Calculate costs of supplies, such as food ingredients, and calculate accurate gross profit margins.
? Providing efficient instructions to cooks and waiters in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food while never compromising on quality
? Supervise, coordinate, communicate and manage the other chefs without micro-managing the kitchen
? Responsible for stock ordering, capturing and counting
? Responsible for managing and training kitchen staff (7 – 9 employees)
? Monitoring sanitation practices
? Checking and serving quality meals on time with a maximum 25 minutes per customer from order to serving

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with relevant tertiary qualification
? A two year program or training in sanitation and safety of food preparation
? 5 – 8 Years’ experience as a Chef / Executive Chef
? Ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, including owners, general manager, suppliers and staff
? Extensive knowledge of food ingredients and use
? Ability to manage stock levels so that wastage and shrinkage does not exceed 3%
? Ability to take accurate stock on a weekly basis
? Ability to produce reports reflecting the accurate discrepancy between actual stock versus system stock on a weekly basis
? Excellent leadership skills and experience
? Excellent time management
? Excellent administration skills
? Must be computer literate (Platinum Point of Sale software, Microsoft (Excel and Word) and Outlook Express)
? Must have a driver’s license
