Introduction

The Executive Director is a fulltime position, based at the National Office in Edenvale, Johannesburg. Candidates residing outside of the Gauteng Region will be required to relocate.
The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership, management and core activities of the Institute of Plumbing of South Africa as per a registered Non-Profit Employers Organisation, according to the strategic direction set by the Executive and the Constitution of the Institute.
Minimum requirements for the role
5 years business experience post qualification
Business Management Degree will be an advantage
Knowledge of the plumbing industry an advantage
Contractual knowledge and experience
Excellent management and organisational skills
Good decision-making skills
Good communication skills
Must be able to Initiate action
Problem solver
Good negotiation skills

Roles & responsibilities of the Executive Director is as follows, but not limited to:

1)Leadership - Participate with the Executive in developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan to guide the Institute.
2)Operational planning and management - Participate with the Executive in developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan to guide the Institute.
3)Program/Project planning and management - Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Institutes’ programs and services.
4)Human resources planning and management.
5)Community relations/advocacy - Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the Institute and to identify changes in the community served by the Institute.
6)Risk management - Identify, evaluate and manage the risks to the Institute's people (clients, staff, management, volunteers), property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks.
7)Financial planning and management - Manage and maintain the Institutes’ monthly finances, Annual Budget/Cash Flow and programme/project financials.
Salary is negotiable based on experience.
