Chief Operating Officer - Financial Services | Investment / Asset Management

A renowned investment firm providing enhanced returns for listed investments is creating a new role of Chief Operating Officer to add depth to the firm’s management team. Reporting to the Founding Partners, the COO will manage day-to-day operations across the firm, playing an important role in navigating through the complexity of serving clients, investing and operating across the country and continent.

Role Summary:
The COO will work closely with the Partners in developing the firm’s annual operating plan and budget which reflect the strategic plan and priorities approved annually by the firm’s board, and will take the lead role in executing the operating plan.

You will;
• Oversee the Company’s compliance with all statutory duties imposed on it under the relevant legislation, rules and regulations;
• Oversee the liaison with all regulatory authorities and organizations on all matters relating to the Company;
• Develop, establish, and direct execution of operating policies and procedures to support overall company policies and objectives;
• Contribute to the development of the Company’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization;

Minimum Requirements:
• Must be a seasoned operator, with at least 10 years experience within financial services—particularly investment management—and operating experience in a COO or Head of Operations, coupled with a sold Financial Management background
• Degree educated (Finance, Economics, Accounting)
• Must be qualified CA(SA), or CFA (Charter Holder)
• You will have ideally worked in a an asset management company and gained experience related to rapid fund growth and client take on; and experience with developing new processes and procedures to accommodate this development.
