SANCA Pretoria, is an NGO operating as an in-patient treatment centre for alcohol and drug addiction for male and female addicts and a unit for male youths from its Pretoria-North premises and two out-patient clinics from its Soshanguve and Hammanskraal premises, invites candidates for the position of Executive Officer Therapeutic Services.

The short listed applicants will be required to undergo a voluntary psychometric evaluation.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract and the permanent appointment will be subject to a six month probation period.

The Executive Officer is the second in command to the CEO of SANCA Pretoria with all the duties and responsibilities as defined in the Constitution of the Organization and the Delegations of Authority Policy Document; and

• The first line of communication to and reporting to the CEO by the responsible Departmental Managers with regard to the activities of;
- The In-patient treatment programs for Castle Carey Clinic and the Lapalame Youth and Drug Unit;
- The Soshanguve Out-patient clinic;
- The Hammanskraal Out-patient clinic;
- The Medical and Nursing Division of all the above mentioned services,
- The Household Division.

• To support the CEO and be co-responsible with the management and the execution of the implementation of all relevant legislation,
prescriptions, Minimum Norms and Standards of the Department of Social Development, Minimum Norms and Standards of SANCA
Pretoria’s In-Patient and Out-Patient services as well as the compliance to the standards of SANCA National and policies applicable to the
optimal functioning of treatment programs in in-an out-patient facilities in an unpredictable working hour environment.

AS WELL AS
• In the event that the CEO is not available –
- The act in the position
- To be the first line of communications and responsibility between all other Departmental Managers and other Staff of the Organization to the
Executive Committee of the organisation, and
- To be the first line of communications regarding external matters as may be pre-delegated by the CEO and or the Executive Committee.
• The Executive Officer (Secretary) is a non-voting member of the Management Board and is not taken into account when determining a
quorum.

The minimum requirements for the incumbent, but not limited to, are:

• Appropriate tertiary qualification in social sciences and or health services sciences. A post graduate qualification will be a recommendation.
• Relevant senior management experience (minimum 5 years) preferably in an institutional environment where the core competencies
required was the effective management and utilisation of the skills of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team as well as financial and
logistical, marketing, public relations management.
• Experience in a substance abuse related working environment will be a recommendation.
• Ability to work long and unpredictable hours dictated by institutional operational requirements.
• Ability to work in a high profile, stressful and fast paced environment.
• An excellent background profile in human relations and effective staff management.
• Writing and management of business plans including performance progress reports
• Management and control of the comprehensive administration including fully accountable documentation in respect of all patients, the staff,
financial and logistical systems and policies.
• Execution of the effective discipline and ensure the interest of all patients on matters conducive to their treatment and diverse needs
• Effective utilization of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance the outcomes of treatment interventions.
• Fluency in English, Afrikaans and an African language will be a recommendation.

Salary: An annual entry level all-inclusive TRP (total remuneration package) between R427 190 – R447 300.
