This Home grown Logistics Company with an International Footprint is one of the most well-known logistics and freight forwarding companies in South Africa.

We are on the hunt for a Export controller that has managed both Air & Sea Freight Exports to join their team for a three month contract which will become permanent.You will need experience fromthe Freight Industry,skill and knowledge dealing with exports ,

Responsibilities will include:
Sea Freight:

- Arrange for packing
- Make bookings with shipping lines on receipt of instruction. (via inttra and/or email
- Monitor and ensure receipt of booking confirmations from Shipping Lines is within 24 hours and accurate.
- Make bookings with shipping lines on receipt of the booking instruction.(Via Inttra and/ or e-mail)
- Liaise with shipping lines regarding changes and communicate changes
- Generate cargo dues and submit to s/lines together with the Bill of Entry
- Receive Bill of Entry
- Ensure receipt of copy of Bill of lading
- Monitor vessel sailings
- Ensure shipped on board details before invoicing
- General queries and office support

Air Freight:

- Negotiate rates with airlines outside of contract rates
- Book cargo, liaise with Airlines
- Ensure that any statutory inspections are carried out / CRF’s obtained
- Customs formalities export authorization prior to shipments departure
- Ensure that any goods temporarily exported / imported have the procedure followed.
- Planning loads, consolidation of shipments and loading configurations
- Framing OBL, release, pre-alerts sent to all parties.
- Follow up on airfreight shipments including tracking.
- Reconciliation of the file, invoicing with 2 days after goods departure.
- Receivable Reports / tracking update daily and when required
- Communicate with all subcontractors
- Quotations for work outside of contract
- Assist in other spheres of client(s) where directed.
- All correspondence to be kept on file with authorization from the client and easily accessible.
- Ensure that clients receive a service in such a manner that more business in other modes or areas are considered
- Ensure any problems / issues are brought to the attention of the Senior Airfreight Controller.


What is required for this position?
- 2-3 years experience in the freight forwarding sector
- Avalibility to start immediately
