Type of Business:
Leading South African manufacturer of gate motors and access automation equipment.

Purpose of the Role:
To expand the portfolio of clients for the exports department through intensive desk research followed up by travelling when necessary into the various markets being targeted. The person will also be responsible for managing a select portfolio of existing export clients and maximize sales on the Africa content, Indian Ocean Islands and select European countries.

Remuneration:
R30 000 per month net + Provident Fund + Medical Aid and 13th Cheque

Minimum Requirements:
• A post Matric qualification in Marketing, Commerce or Business Management.
• Knowledge of the Export industry and travel experience in Africa would be a good advantage.
• A valid passport for frequent travelling
• A fair knowledge of Diagnostics advantageous
• French Speaking

Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas:
• Development of export market
• Research the potential for our products in a particular region
• Contact as many companies as possible that are involved with the distribution and/or installation of our products in this region.
• Determine the best way to distribute our products in the region.
• Set up an agent / distributor to handle our product in the region.
• Guide them with regards to marketing the product in the region.
• Provide all the necessary training in terms of product sales, installation and after sales support. This will involve visits from time to time.
• Monitor the purchases of the agent on a regular basis and develop the market for our products to their full potential.
• Assisting with training - preferably being able to provide the training
• Achieving sales targets while maintaining a prescribed selling margin
• Ensuring adherence to all necessary export procedures and assist in collecting related documentation

Functional Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French (read, write and communicate)
• Excellent selling skills
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Ability to critically evaluate sales into different markets
• Highly computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably some exposure to a recognised ERP system such as Pastel, SAP etc.)
• Able to work overtime
• Has the desire and in the position to travel away from home for at least 40% of the year and for up to two weeks in each instance
