Hydraulic & Industrial Hose Sales and Service Representative

Summary of position

The principle objective of the Sales and Service Representative based in Linbro Business Park, Sandton, is to encourage maximum sales of the Company’s products in the assigned regional territory and/or customer listing, in accordance with laid down policy. The incumbent is to ensure customer requests are professionally handled by providing timeous and accurate product information to customers. The Sales and Service Representative would collate accurate information in determining a matching solution to the customer’s needs and furthermore will provide for assistance in enabling quotations and tenders to be delivered on-time.

At all times build prestige and promote goodwill for the company. The Sales and Service Representative is to implement and maintain an account management plan to develop a positive long-term business relationship between assigned accounts and Head Office.

Summary of duties

•Maintain and promotes outline of the summary of position above.

•Participate in the development of the annual sales plan, including sales budgets, promotions, and account management activities pertaining to the allocated individual’s sales region or customer base.

•Collate customer, competitor and market information as basis from which to set goals for the effective growth of the Company.

•Develop a sound knowledge of the territory/customer base and its potential.

•Protect and maintain existing business and obtaining new customer business either directly or indirectly.

•Submits sales activity and forecast reports to National Sales Manager and attend sales meetings on a weekly basis.

•Maintain daily planner & diaries/day books and record all information under the relevant section of the DS Drive.

•Respond immediately and with diligence to customer inquiries/information needs and provides positive, courteous service to customers.

•Ensure client awareness is maintained as to the Company capabilities and the value added services and products available to them.

•Assists customer in preparing/processing credit applications and seek approval from the National Sales Manager / General Manager on pricing / payment terms prior to submission to the credit department.

•Aim to achieve or exceed set sales target monthly and annually, the budget being the minimum requirement.

•Perform any other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

•Have ownership of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

•Knowledge of all products and value add services marketed by the Company, their uses, benefits, prices etc.

•Excellent personal presentation with good ethical communications skills to promote increased business value to the company.

•A good working knowledge of computer applications and the ability to work well with people is essential.

•Sound competency in assessing customer needs and identifying sales opportunities.

•Ability to work independently, in a disciplined manner to maximize business opportunities and success.

•Solid time management skills

•Solid organizing and planning skills.

•Demonstrated sales skills with references provided of sales achievements in a related industry sales position for a sustained period is desirable.

•At least 3 to 5 years sales experience in a similar environment is required.

•Tertiary education in the sales field is desirable.

•Own reliable transport
