DUTIES
• Responsible for the sales function of the branch. Customers and areas are allocated by ownership and management.
• To report directly to management in East London.
• To draft a customer call schedule for all customers split by geographical location and drafted for the next three months, to be reviewed on a monthly basis at least.
• A sales value plan indicating forecasted turnover is to be quarterly split by month and customer, this to be committed to as individual performance targets.
• A customer call schedule is to be kept reflecting upcoming week’s activity as well as an actual call report reflecting daily activity. These plans are to be completed and reviewed weekly and submitted to management by close of business each Friday of the week.
• Assist customers select products based on the customer’s needs, product specifications and regulations.
• Answer customer’s questions about prices, availability and product uses.
• To provide customers with quotations upon request which are based on their needs and budget and to follow up thereon in an endeavor to secure the business.
• When issuing quotations, the sales representative is to negotiate prices and terms of sale.
• Follow up with customers to ensure they are satisfied with their purchases and the level of customer service.
• Identification of prospective customers.
• Submit sales orders to internal sales consultants for processing.
• Follow up with the internal sales consultant once sales order has been submitted to ensure the customer receives their order in the shortest time period possible and an exceptional level of service is maintained.
• To assist with telephone and counter customer sales orders and enquiries.
• Identify and attend relevant networking opportunities which may include trade shows, exhibitions, business gatherings, etc.
• To assist with stock take when required by Management.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information and ensure provision of exceptional customer service.
• Fulfill administrative duties such as completion and submission of monthly/weekly customer call plans and call reports.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service to customers at all times, this may mean assisting customers beyond specified working hours or within designated lunch and tea times.
REQUIREMENTS
• The position requires an incumbent to have their own reliable and roadworthy transportation which is available for use at all times.
• Valid driver’s license
• Cellphone
• Grade 12 high school certificate prerequisite, diploma, certificate or degree within the field of marketing or business management is preferred.
• Contactable references is a must and previous sales experience within a wholesale or retail environment of three years is preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate alignment with businesses code of ethics and organisational culture
PAY
The position provides an incumbent with a basic salary, car allowance, cellphone usage and fuel compensation. In addition, the successful incumbent receives commission based on sales and the achievement of set minimum targets.
