Factory Manager required for a Concrete Products Manufacturing Company based in the Midrand Area (Gauteng)

Pre-Requirements
• Seven years factory management experience.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of pre-cast concrete manufacturing and/or associated manufacturing industries.

The company does Spun and Vibrating concrete products

• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering of precast concrete and/or associated manufacturing industries.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
• Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
• A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability for conflict resolution skills

Key Performance Activities (KPA’s)

Production
• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
• Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
• Share a trusting relationship with production workgroup/s.
• Collect and analyse data to find places of waste or overtime.
• Commit to plant safety procedures.
• Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
• Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.

Transport
• Ensure transport planning and dispatch of products to customers.
• Ensure products are received timeously without incident or damage.
• Ensure costs are kept within the agreed budget levels and that the transport recovery budget is achieved.
• Ensure co-ordination between the transport, production and sales.

Sales
• Oversee and support the sales function.
• Share a trusting relationship with the sales workgroup and support the recruitment, management and development of sales staff.

Finance
• Develop and manage annual budget planning and execution.
• Support the management of debtors, creditors and payroll.

Human Resources
• Recruit, hire, develop and train staff.
• Address employees’ issues and/or grievances.
• Administer collective bargaining agreements.
• Manage payroll.

Policies & Procedures
• Ensure that Company Policy and Procedures are complied with.

Executive
• Compile and analyse factory figures.
• Submit reports to Board of Directors.
