Factory / Production Manager

Qualifications:
Grade 12
Industrial Manager Diploma
Microsoft Office – fully competent
Pastel Evolution Certificate added advantage

Level of Experience:
2-4 years Factory Managerial experience

The Factory Manager is employed for the purposes of managing Receiving, Warehousing, Blending, Production and Despatch in coordinating and successful executing, achieving and exceeding established targets
Ensure manufacturing operates efficiently to satisfy customer requirements and makes a profit

Responsibility
Planning and scheduling
Plan Production Meetings
Plan production activities, workers schedules
Plan Machine Maintenance schedules
Agree on delivery timetables
Ensures there is effective collaboration between various departments
Co- ordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers

Monitoring
Oversee the entire factory production plant,
Receiving and despatch of goods

Performance
1 Execute the Daily Production Plan
Ensuring that the production is cost effective
Develop short and long term plans to increase production capacity

Quality Assurance
Setting and maintaining of Quality Standards

Stock take
Counting of stock to facilitate accurate stock count (wip, finished goods)

Staff Management
Training
Set Training Standards and operations performance testing
On the job training of all staff in Production
Liaise with Human Resources for external training requirements
Perform staff appraisals to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of staff in production

Management Reporting
Supply Management on a daily basis Daily Production Report showing issuing, blending, Manufacturing per line its efficiencies and percentage of target achieved in manufacturing and products despatched
Hourly Production Report showing what Line Leaders have achieved per hour loaded onto Global Share, measuring machine and labour Capability
Reject and wastage in Production Report
Report what the issues are for low production
Who was responsible for not achieving target

Labour requirements
Determining staffing requirements for production together with Production Planner to facilitate manufacturing requirements

Company Relations
Work with, develop positive relationships with, communicate with, and co-ordinate activities with other employees in all other internal departments.
Communicate effectively, co-operate with fellow staff and management
