We are recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated and target driven Farm Business Manager for an International Berry-Farm in Hermanus. The position will be responsible for the overall management and leadership functions of the farm including labour planning and management, production, harvesting and pack house activities.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic direction and management;
• Financial management, reports and budgets;
• Planning, implementation and monitoring of the total production process of crops aligned to world class growing techniques;
• Total management of production, harvest and pack house processes according to company standards and procedures;
• Staff management and development; staff numbers range between 300 and 1500 in-season;
• Planning, preparation and production of two crops (Raspberries and Blueberries)
• Stock management and procurement;
• Business risk assessment and management
• Labour planning;
• Provide support to cross functional teams in developing business plans, budgets, pricing structures and marketing plans;

Candidate Requirements:

? Agriculture/Horticulture Degree plus business qualifications (e.g. MBA);
? Integrate network linkages of soft fruit and berry industry entities and individuals;
? Exceptional leadership, management skills and sapiential authority;
? At least 10 years’ executive management experience;
? Proven success in procuring and managing new business;
? Knowledge of and network in the fruit/agriculture industry;
? Financial management, including budgeting;
? Planning and meeting deadlines;
? Corporate legislation;
