Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality poultry products to markets via various brands is seeking to employ a Farm Manager for its Rearing operations, within the Breeder Division.
It holds the TASK grade T09 and reports to the Rearing Area Manager. The incumbent of this position will be expected to achieve the required rearing KPIs, which ultimately ensure that the company’s day old chick requirements are met.
The ideal incumbent will have an Agricultural Diploma; one year’s experience in PS management in rearing birds and supervision of a team.
Results Required
• Contribute to the achievement of rearing birds KPIs on the facility
• Ensure that all houses and assets are kept in perfect operating condition throughout the cycle
• Rigid SOP and BRC adherence in all operational aspects
• Ability to manage costs and run the farm within the allocated budget
• Ability to oversee and guide the maintenance effort on the farm to achieve KPIs
• Contribute to ensuring the safe working conditions of employees on site
• Complete and submit reports, planning schedules and data analysis reports as required
• Focus on cost control by ensuring that the farm is efficiently run
• Ensure that the Company is not exposed to any form of risk or loss in the area under your direct supervision.

• Excellent knowledge of aspects related to animal husbandry and stockmanship
• Strong leadership abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
