Our client, a large scale olive producer in Paarl, has the above-mentioned vacancy. The ideal candidate has excellent managerial skills, can work independantly, is self-motivated, can handle pressure and naturally shows pro-active initiative. Good organizational and planning skills as well as experience in a similar position in the agricultural industry (crop production) are pre-requisites for this position. A relevant qualification and mechanical aptitude will further count in the applicants favour.

The applicant will report directly to the Owner and is responsible for the full farming function that will include the following: • Managing all production processes (pruning, irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting etc) • Maintenace management • Staff management • Keeping records and compiling production reports • Managing farming budget • Managing operational costs • Quality management • All other duties relevant to the position.
