Field Repair Technician
Hourly wage: R38 x 195 (R7410)
Cell (R200 per fortnight)
Purpose of this role: To deliver high quality customer service by building, analyzing, testing, repairing equipment and retraining it to service within acceptable time frames. Input is provided with product design and installation
Qualifications Required
• Grade 12, N6 Electronics
• Part B.Tech
Experience Required
• 2 years experience in fault finding
• Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, soldering and desoldering, working with electronic tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, mechanical assembly
• Camera and alarm system installations
• CWS , Remcon , ESI product training
• Customer Interaction
• Language proficiency : English and Afrikaans

• Minimize daily cost and wastage (Eg use of equipment, parts, stationary, etc)
• Mine cost be dealing with faults and repairs efficiently and effectively in order to return equipment to service
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by installing/repairing equipment within reasonable time frames
• Proactively communicate with customers to ensure that the problems are understood and resolved and relationships strengthened
• Conduct mine visit in order to trouble shoot and fix equipment (2 days a week)
• Receive fully equipment from customers/ mines
• Read and interpret schematic diagrams
• Apply appropriate methods and tools to test check equipment
• Thoroughly test equipment to analyse faults and ensure that equipment conforms to specifications as per schematic diagram (use multimeter and oscilloscope)
• Methodically and systematically use a process of elimination to accurately identify faults
• Set master controller and CU switches
• Make recommendations to improve products, processes and systems
• Ensure that work are is organised , clean and tidy in line with OHASA
• Ensure accurate and timeously completion of reporting requirements and administration
• Ensure that ISO quality standards are achieved
• Adhere to all company policies, rules and regulations in all activities
• Work overtime as required in order to meet business needs
• Perform any reasonable ad hoc task and duties required y management
• Read and portray understanding of new product training material
• Ensure technical competence of self i order to deliver quality service
• Develop competencies and skills in order to perform role optimally
• The ability to form relationships to promote productivity and efficiency in the work environment
• The ability to communicate professionally in order to build and maintain relationships
• The ability to perform tasks within pre determined timetables and specifications in the work environment
• The ability to pay attention to detail to ensure that work is completed correctly to achieve quality standards
