A well-established mining company is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician (Fixed Term Contract) In the Secunda area

Core Requirements:

• Matric
• Qualified Electrician / Millwright (Trade Certificate)
• Flameproof Certificate
• Gas Testing Certificate

• 5 years’ experience on underground equipment
• JNA I and JNA II and VFD experience is crucial
• DC & AC shuttle cars experience will be an advantage
• High level knowledge and experience of the companies mining equipment
• Driver’s License with Own reliable vehicle
• Must be computer and database literate (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Willing and able to work alone and in teams
• Willing and able to travel extensively
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends
• Must be willing to work shifts when required

Brief Description of Duties:

• Maintain / repair the companies equipment
• Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections
• Customer support in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and to achieve lowest cost per ton
• Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance
• Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping
• Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimisation
• Travel between Mines for maintenance / repairs
• Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and customers
• Write clear reports
