Overview:

As a fully qualified Electrician/Millwright, responsibilities would include maintaining and repairing relevant mining equipment
Responsibilities:
Maintain / repair mining equipment
Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections
Support customers in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and achieve lowest cost per ton
Conduct Machine Inspections as per prescribed customer requests
Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance
Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping
Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimisation
Coach mine section artisans on daily tasks to be performed on Joy section machinery
Conduct and investigate any machine related problems and optimise MTTR
Communicate with top level people (Maintenance Engineers, Underground Managers, etc.
Report writing

Minimum Requirements:

Matric / N3
Fully qualified Electrician / Millwright
Require flameproof and gas testing certificates
At least 5 yrs experience on underground mining equipment
Drivers’ license and own reliable transport
High level knowledge and experience of Joy and Fletcher equipment
Must have done relevant courses for Joy Equipment
JNA I and JNA II and VFD experience is crucial
DC & AC experience will be an advantage
Must be computer and database literate (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
