My client, a leading brand in FMCG, wants to add 3 Finance Accountants to their team:

What is the primary purpose of your job?

Apply the principles of accounting within the assigned area of accounting.
Process monthly manual journal entries into various accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of GL accounts.
Perform routine accounting functions such as ledger maintenance, cost analysis, reconciliation, posting and inventory control.
Provide financial information to internal and external customers where required. Assist management accountant in compiling month end cost centre reports for each business function.
Applying and ensuring that financial internal controls are applied and adhered too in the business
Maintenance and updating of the fixed asset register on a monthly basis
Reports to Management Accountant

Minimum qualifications required by the position:

B-Comm Accounting degree or Technikon Diploma with Accounting and Cost Accounting as major subjects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.

Strong communication skills
Leadership and coaching skills
Business analytical skills
Strong Finance business background
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel
Minimum experience required by the position:

2-3 Years relevant accounting and administrative experience in a FMCG environment. Advances knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing required. Be able to make sound, independent judgements within established policies and procedures.
