Finance Controller: Accounts Payable – Medical Scheme – Pretoria


JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to provide financial compliance support services to the Finance Manager: Accounts Payable in order to:
? Manage Scheme finances efficiently and prudently; and
? Assessing and mitigating risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage scheme finances efficiently and prudently
? Responsible for management of travel agency accounts
? Create vendors as per requirements and maintain Vendor Master on AX Dynamics system
? Capture all invoices for processing in the accounting system
? Prepare vendor reconciliations for review
? Capture purchase agreements on the system to ensure proper invoicing of contract expenditure
? Capture fixed monthly contract invoices or accruals
? Monitor age analysis to ensure accurate processing of transactions on the system
? Process payments to vendors and employees
? Provide input for preparation of year-end accruals required to ensure accurate reporting of expenses in the Schemes AFS
? Proactively engage with stakeholders
? Maintain financial records continuously
? Obtain and submit all information required by the auditors within the stipulated time frames

Assess and mitigate risk
? Ensure deadlines are met at all times
? Ensure compliance with finance and procurement related policies
? Ensure adherence to internal controls

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
? Diploma in Accounting or similar, and studying towards a degree in Accounting
? Minimum three (3) year’s accounts payable and finance related experience.
? Administration skills and clerical functions
? Computer literacy.
? Pay attention to detail
? Knowledge of policy and audit environment
? Knowledge of the accounting software package, of which Microsoft AX Dynamics would be an added advantage
