Finance Manager: Strategic Support – Medical Scheme - Pretoria

The Finance Manager: Strategic Support will report directly to the Senior Manager: Finance and forms part of the Finance Division. The position is based at Head Office.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
? Drive the implementation of the Finance strategy elements;
? Coordinate the various strategy transition projects within the Finance division;
? Analysis of Scheme claim payments;
? Ensure compliance with Scheme systems, processes and policies;
? Ensure financial records are maintained for audit purposes;
? Obtain and review the monthly and quarterly actuarial reports and provide feedback;
? Obtain and review ad hoc Actuarial reports;
? Assist with the implementation of a new actuarial strategy for the Scheme and develop necessary processes;
? Ensure that the actuaries develop the Business plan and benefit pricing for submission to the Board of Trustees;
? Develop a process for tracking of all actuarial requests and ensure timely delivery of all requests and reports;
? Sound contract and Service Level Agreement environment maintained, performance reviewed and reported on quarterly;
? Support the Finance Committee meetings held monthly and ensure that to-do-items from the meetings are resolved;
? Prepare all quarterly strategic progress reports; and
? Provide input on the division’s annual operational plan.

Qualification, skills and competencies requirements are:
? Post graduate Degree in Accounting;
? Minimum 5 years financial management and reporting experience, with at least 3 years at management level;
? Computer skills preferably Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
? Knowledge of accounting systems, processes and policies;
? Be organised and have good time management skills;
? Be analytical and have the ability to manage priorities;
? Have the ability to work well as part of a team;
? Be responsible and reliable;
? Have a diligent work ethic with attention to detail; and
? Self-motivated and pro-active.
? Prior knowledge of working within a Medical Scheme would be an advantage;
