Business partner to product area with management of full general ledger for the area with responsibility for all revenue streams, segmentation, direct costs, allocated costs and SLA’s specific to the product area.
Management reporting for product area including: trend analysis, variance reporting, drivers of revenue and cost growth, including the reporting required to central finance.
Involvement in Basel implementation and BA reporting, understanding impacts of these requirements on capital and pricing.
Ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards.
Analysis of risk in the business, with focus on solutions for improvements.
Understanding of cost allocation, SLA’s and costing methodologies in order to explain and question costing in place.
Assisting in pricing discussions and modelling pricing of clients in the product area.
Assisting external and internal auditors during the interim and year-end audit processes
Experience in a financial services environment beneficial
Computer Literacy – MS Office, Excel at Advanced Level
Essbase knowledge beneficial (Reporting system)

Duties:
• Budget analysis, forecast and preparation of budget.
• Forecast, analyse and document economic conditions affecting industry and / or segments across the company.
• Develop and implement a framework to control financial performance against operational and cost targets and manage the escalation process to prevent potential risks which may lead to increased costs.
• Establish shareholder value through integrated frameworks, guidelines, policies, standards and resource optimisation.
• Develop a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.
• Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
• Develop a Financial Information Strategy to ensure Financial Information Tools are applied to support the business strategies.
• Make strategic recommendations and/or give options reflecting operational and market imperatives impacting on finance.
• Ensure all financial practices conform to the company and Legislative accounting practices and policies by ensuring no audit findings are recorded.
• Define, develop and maintain policies, procedures, standards and frameworks to efficiently manage area of specialization.
• Provision of recommendations for strategic decisions based on findings from analyses
• Ensure financial statements are compiled and maintain responsibility for the integrity of the information through ensuring accurate reporting on financial results of the business.
• Manage SLA's with internal and external service providers.
• Develop and present Cash Operating Pricing Models and Balanced Scorecards for Finance and MIS departments.
• Timeous delivery of relevant and reliable financial management information for decision making.
• Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.
• Manage own development to increase own competencies.
