About the company:
Our client, a formidable JSE Limited Company, is seeking to employ a Financial Manager for the Gauteng office who is a self-driven and focused individual, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in a managerial position.

Duties:
• Effective management of staff
• Monthly financial accounting, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Management of the cash, bank and accounts payable functions
• Maintaining of Internal Control Standards
• Annual audit and financial statements
• Asset control and fixed asset accounting
• Preparation and review of taxation and tax compliance (incl. income tax, vat and gambling tax)
• Compiling and maintaining of departmental budget
• Monthly reporting to Group Financial Manager
• Compiling reports and financial packs for submission to the Board of Directors
• To express potential through adaptability, initiating action, work standards, innovation and stress tolerance
• To interact effectively through communication, building customer loyalty and trust, managing conflict, negotiation, gaining commitment and managing teams
• To achieve goals by contributing to team success, follow up, facilitating change, meeting leadership and participation

Requirements:
• BComm Acc or CA (SA)
• Knowledge of SA tax
• Knowledge of gambling tax would be beneficial
• Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, an accounting package (preferably Great Plains) and a fixed asset package
• Display effective leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively to meet tightly scheduled deadlines
• Willing to work overtime (when required)
