Overview
Reporting into the General Manager of Finance, the Finance Manager will:
• Provide key financial support to the Operations and Functional Heads. The role holder is expected to become an invaluable partner to the Food Managing Directors, Food General Managers and Functional Heads (as assigned) and will be their contact for all matters concerning financial performance and analysis. The incumbent will continuously seek opportunities for improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Provide commercial decision support for Operations and Functions across the business including providing accurate financial information to guide senior executives in their decision making on an operational level, with the responsibility of budgeting, forecasting, business planning and financial modelling.
• Develop a work culture that fosters application competence, service excellence, customer focus and business process knowledge. This is a role for a real people engager!

Education, Experience, Knowledge Skills and Competencies required:
• Relevant Accounting Qualifications (e.g. CIMA, B.Com with , Acct as major).
• Ability to form close working relationships with senior non-finance members of staff - communicate effectively, gaining their trust and influencing them where necessary.
• Strong business planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills.
• Significant exposure to budget planning and cost / variance reporting.
• Ability to quickly analyse and manipulate large quantities of financial data, drawing out key matters of significance.
• Demonstrable evidence of leading successful cost reduction and efficiency projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (including power point).
• Demonstrable experience of generating ideas and formulating strategies.
• In depth and practical knowledge of providing cost analysis, business case reviews and investment analysis.
• People management experience compulsory.
• Understand full Debtors component and must have worked closely in environment or had exposure to collections.
• Understand full Billing component and must have worked closely in environment or had exposure to invoicing.
• Knowledge of SAP or large operating system.





• Computer Literacy:
o Strong PC and MS Office skills – Excel Advanced compulsory. Excel vantageous
o Trained and with moderate exposure to the SAP Finance and Management Accounting modules would be advantageous

Key areas of responsibility:
Functional Tasks
• Provide support to Operations and/or Functions for:
o Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
? Develop plans and annual budgets;
? Support capital planning / resource allocation via inputs into the AIC approval model;
? Review, challenge, and finalise plans and budgets;
? Perform periodic forecasting.
o Performance reporting and analytics:
? Measure, analyse and report business performance for your area of responsibility providing key inputs for the monthly MAP pack:
? Review Business performance with management;
? Develop action plans, re-allocate resources, & update forecast;
? Maintain common performance language and definitions; and
? Provide on-going/ad-hoc reporting & analytical support.
o Financial modelling and analysis of sector and/or regional profitability and establishing turnaround plans.
o Joint Venture support and interaction (as required).
o Take lead for ensuring finance interfaces in place for unit opening and closing.
o Support the delivery of applicable 31 Key Financial Controls.
• Manage costs within budget expenditure guidelines.
• Responsible for End to end Debtors (Food)
• Responsible for End to end Billing (Food)
• Be an invaluable partner to the Operations MD, GM’s, RM’s and/or Function Heads, and be their contact for all matters concerning financial performance and analysis:
o Work closely with management to understand the key drivers of their business including commercial terms, sector conditions and restraints
o Leading management through the annual budget-setting process, taking ownership of the inputs for your area and play a key role at the interface between finance and the business
o Review the budget based on performance to date, and make appropriate amendments through the reforecast process giving management a clear indication of where their performance for the year is heading, and help them to understand what actions need to be taken.
o Helping management to set out a longer term strategy for their business
o Develop longer term forecasting models and attend strategy sessions.
o Providing the business unit and/or regional teams with all the reporting required to help them manage their areas including monthly summaries of actual performance.
o Attending regional Business Review as a key member of their management team.
• Take ultimate responsibility for finance issues / problems related to the region until they are resolved.
• Provide financial training to operations

People Management
• Responsible for end to end Debtors portfolio through the management of Accounts Receivable Clerks
• Responsible for end to end Billing portfolio through the management of Billing Clerks
• Carry out Performance Management processes with each team member
• Guide and coach team members
