Updating of transactions on a day-to-day basis for various companies
prepare, compile, examine and analyse financial information to access accuracy and completeness in order to prepare monthly financial packs and annual financial statements
ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
prepare financial management reports including providing reasons for variances through close relationship with Head of Companies(HOC’s)
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets in conjunction with Head of Companies, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
ensure accurate and timely monthly, half-yearly and year end close processes
establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
monitor and support taxation requirements (PAYE, VAT, Income Tax etc)
submission of tax returns on e-filing (VAT, EMP etc)
Correspondence of SARS related matters when applicable
develop and maintain financial databases on Pastel
prepare for financial audit and ensure reconciliations are up to date
oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues through financial packs and detail comments
collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
survey operations/business units to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
any adhoc requests from time to time
