Our Client a Global Organisation is currently seeking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Edenvale. Retail experience is a must. Ability to work weekends and exposure to working on the floor in store

Purpose

Maintain bookkeeping in accordance with local regulations and IFRS
Minimize tax exposure
Manage team of accountants
Manage relations with various stakeholders in store
Manage financial reporting
Client Satisfaction
Maintain bookkeeping in accordance with local regulations
Publish monthly, quarterly and annual results within fixed deadlines within high level of quality (IFRS and management accounting)
Keep abreast of accounting changes on a regular basis to ensure immediate application
Understand the level of competence for each team member and ensure training and development is provided
Manage the relationship with the Auditors (planning schedule, preparation and communication of required data)

Minimize tax exposure

Ensure that all tax submissions are done within due dates
Maintain and update warehouse ledger
Liaise regularly with company's lawyer regarding tax changes to ensure tax laws are adhered to

Manage relations with various stakeholders and team members

Oversee stores' accounting teams, Play a role of "super User" on relevant systems
Manage Accounting team
Ensure transmission of knowledge and information to the team

Maintain Procedures and Reporting

Understand management accounting rules of the business
Automate processes to increase reliability and efficiency
Liaise with management accounting team to facilitate the publication of shareholders' report

Ensure delivery of quality service at all times
Lead the team according to relevant HR policies and guidelines

Recruitment & Training

Responsible for recruitment and training of new staff
Ensure each team member is well trained and developed to perform their duties
Ensure engagement and versatility of the team
Manage diversity and ensure proper team integration

Budgeting

Manage budget
Ensure management of costs as per agreed budget
Negotiate fair prices with external accounting and tax firms
Proactively minimize tax penalty risks by forecasting and adhering to tax regulations
