Requirements:
Registered CA (SA) having passed the Board Exams at 1st attempt
Must have averaged 70% or more in both Undergrad and Honours Degrees
2-4 years of experience post articles.
Completed articles with one of the Big 4
Must have knowledge of Current IFRS/ US GAAP
Knowledge of latest Accounting Packages (Pastel/Case ware/MDA)
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook)
Excellent communication skills
Stable career history

Responsibilities:
To regulate, supervise, review, and implement a full and accurate set of accounting records for the relevant companies in full compliance with the relevant legislation and accounting policies
Monthly management accounts for the group and operating companies
Monthly management accounts for funds administered by the group where applicable
Annual Financial Statements for the group and operating companies
Annual Financial Statements for funds administered by the group, where applicable
To implement continuous review and control systems to monitor the performance of the company, its flows of funds, and adherence to budgets
To prepare and present to the Senior Accountant an annual budget and/or financial plan, business plans, and/or any documentation required
To identify and alert the Senior Accountant of any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence to process and procedures, weakness in internal controls, and any actual or potential concerns arising out of the financial and operational matters of the business
To ensure that all relevant security measures, and authorization levels are in place to ensure effective functioning of banking and cash management processes;
To ensure that procedure manuals are strictly implemented and all deadlines re met through appropriate detailed planning;
Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with and external parties;
To manage all junior staff within the hub
Responsible for accounting and reporting at company level and also consolidated financial statements at group level.
Responsible for the regional entities’ financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
Supervision over general accounting, property accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.
Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Departments
Ensure that the quality and integrity of financial and management reporting is maintained.
Ensure that all tax and regulatory submissions are accurate and filed timeously
Ensure that the annual audits are conducted efficiently and within budget.
Deal with company secretary to ensure completion and distribution of board packs, conduct of the board meetings, and ensure that the annual financial statements are signed and submitted to the relevant regulatory body.
