About the company:
Our client, a formidable JSE Limited Company, is seeking to employ an Accountant for the Gauteng office who is a self-driven and focused individual, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience.

Duties Include:
• Monthly financial accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Capturing of the cash and bank
• Adherence of Internal Control Standards (ICS)
• Assistance with annual audit packs preparation
• Maintaining fixed asset register and accounting for all assets
• Preparation and maintenance of site licencing costs
• Month end processing, income statement reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Management of petty cash
• Stock counts, preparation of stock sheets and accounting for all stock movements
• Raising of accruals, prepayments and inter-company transactions
• Monthly fleet analysis and recon
• Review of creditors reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Compliance with all published company policies and procedures
• To express potential through adaptability, initiating action, work standards, innovation and stress tolerance
• To interact effectively through communication, building customer loyalty and trust, managing conflict, negotiation, gaining commitment and managing teams.
• To achieve goals by contributing to team success, follow up, facilitating change, meeting leadership and participation

Requirements:
• Matric plus Accounting Diploma or Degree
• Broad knowledge of general accounting principles and financial accounting
• Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, an accounting package (preferably Great Plains) and a fixed asset package (currently utilising Baud)
• Ability to work effectively to meet tightly scheduled deadlines
• Willing to work overtime (when required)
