Financial Accountant

A leading manufacturing and consumer good conglomerate requires the skill of a dynamic individual to join them and thrive within this Financial Accountant role.

Your key responsibilities will include record keeping, management and financial accounting, analysis, budgeting, reporting and ensuring that all corporate accounting requirements and deadlines are met. Ensure continuous Implementation and strict application of a set of operational standards and controls throughout the company


You will meet the following minimum requirements
• Bcom Accounting Degree or similar
• Majors in Auditing and Management Accounting advantageous
• Advanced MS Office
• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience
• IFRS
• Tax Act (Vat, tax & customs) - Non Negotiable
• Oracle Experience (Non Negotiable)
• Should be intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel user (Non negotiable)
• Should be meticulous and capable of communicating on any level

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Asset Accounting
• Create assets
• Co-ordinate the process from ordering to receiving to ensure accurate timing of capitalisation
• Ensure timely work in progress payments if required
• Ensure correct fiscal depreciation is captured
• Management of small, medium and large CAPEX projects

General Ledger accounting
• Month end closing journals
• Calculate and post necessary accruals
• Daily banking clearings


Oversee AP function
• Assist the AP function in problem solving and provide guidance

Month end tasks
• Flash sales report in Hyperion
• Calculate and run VAT
• Run currency revaluation
• Finalise asset accounting and general ledger accounting
• Generate reports for materials management
• Calculate CDI
• Run the cost centre cycles

Management
• Performance management, Implement and communicate policies and procedures
• Motivate staff, provide ongoing training and development, counselling and technical support
• Manage the KPA requirements of all staff
• Attend to employee queries, complaints, assist staff with operational requirements where necessary

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Pretoria.
