Assistant Financial Controller

Leading Consumer Goods & Pharmaceutical Company is currently recruiting for an Assistant Finance Controller to ensure that financial policies are correctly applied and adhered to by the South Africa business. Additionally, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the accounting operations (including timely and accurate reporting of the Operating Company results) - as well as risk management, controls, audit requirements, CRM and security

Minimum Requirements/Criteria include:
• Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting (essential)
• Minimum of 4-5 years experience in a Finance Controller function (essential)
• SAP experience (non negotiable)
• Experience in FMCG, Pharmaceuticals or Manufacturing industry is essential (non negotiable)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Exceptional communication skills (written and spoken)
• Knowledge and experience with MS Office (advanced Excel skills), SAP, e-mail/outlook

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Asset Accounting
• • Create assets in line with Group procedures
• • Depreciation of assets in line with Group procedures as well as SARS
• Cash flow forecasting for CAPEX projects
• • Capitalization of assets
• • Annual impairment testing
General
• • Responsible for monitoring of compliance with relevant sections of Internal Control Manual (Risk assessment processes) in order to ensure compliance with Company standards
• • Management of financial procedures
• • Management of various financial projects or improvements, from time to time
Management of the General Ledger accounts:
• • Correct allocation of expenses
• • Matching of income and expenditure
• • Monitoring to budget and provision for expenditure
• • Reconciliation of accounts

Management of cost centers:
• • Correct allocation of expenditure
• • Comparison to budget and explanations for over/under expenditure
• • Forecasting of expenditure

Management of cash:
• • Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts
• • Cash flow planning to ensure all obligations are met

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Johannesburg East, Gauteng
