Leading international firm has a vacancy for a Financial Controller that will be responsible for supervision of accounting, tax and cost controlling activities, processes, procedures and accounting staff.
The person selected will report to the local Finance Manager, as a support in the functions of the financial department and implementing and monitoring of internal controls, aligned to group directives.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualified Chartered Accountant
Ability to manage and motivate staff and work in small teams
Previous experience obtained at a large audit firm is highly preferred
Min 4years of working experience in Finance and Administration developed in a Factory of a multinational company
Experience within a manufacturing environment
Attention to detail and analytic capability
Expert user of Microsoft Office
Fluency in English and knowledge of other languages is valuable
Proven knowledge of IFRS, Income Tax, VAT and Management/Cost Accounting
Proven knowledge of South African tax and statutory accounting processes
Working experience of SAP
Occasional national & international travels may be required

Some Responsibilities:

Applying accounting principles in adherence to IFRS, including foreign exchange transactions, hedging and financial instruments.
Approving journals, and reviewing stock and asset adjustments and special SAP ledger transactions.
Assist with any other ad-hoc projects requested by the local Finance Manager.
Building and confirming relationships with external and internal service providers, incl. external auditors, corporate departments, fiscal and governmental authorities.
Compiling and analysing reports, incl. annual budget, monthly forecasts, unit cost reports and profit analyses.
Compiling annual financial statements and tax returns with SARS.
Compiling statutory reports for governmental institutions, group companies, insurance and external auditors.
Coordinate the preparation for and compliance to milestones set for purposes of external and other internal and statutory audits and questionnaires.
Ensure compliance to and maintenance of the SAP Controlling module according to group standards and procedures, ensuring quality and integrity of cost driver data and costing reports.
Ensure compliance to group and local internal control systems, policies and procedures for the financial cycles in SAP.
Financial modelling where necessary incl. forecasts, budgets and viability calculations.
Monitoring, analysing and reporting on budget controlling, cost centre cost variances and administrating cost centre reports.
Obtaining detail cash flow projection data.
Oversee the activities of the Accountant to ensure corporate and statutory deadlines are met, reports, schedules and reconciliations are reviewed and key issues are raised and addressed timeously.
Preparing financial information and assisting with administration of insurance.
Report daily to Finance Manager and provide support to corporate Finance department internationally.
Review creditor reconciliations and supporting documentation for payments.
Scheduling and ensuring fulfilment of annual procedures as required by IFRS, the Companies Act, tax acts and group finance department, incl. annual fixed asset verification, impairment assessments, accounting and tax registers, fair value assessments and intercompany confirmations.
Support with system enhancements.
Updating month-end control checklists and ensuring all routine and closing procedures and controls are followed and executed according to plan and timelines set.
