Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of a Financial Controller in Fourways, Gauteng
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

The preparation and reviewing of monthly management accounts on SAP
• Budget preparation on TM1 – Capex, expenditure and revenue in line with Company Instructions.
• Information for Budget Preparation is sourced and analyzed from previous years performance
• Effective control measures and procedures are implemented in the management of budgets
• Revenue and Yield Management is tracked and necessary corrective action implemented
• Monitor and analyze business trends and adjust revenue Forecast accordingly
• Maintenance and review of the income statement and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Prepare commentary regarding financial performance of the Hotel in line with Company procedures and standards to Head office on a monthly basis
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of systems of Internal control in the hotel
• Overseeing of debtors and creditors from the hotel
• Reviewing of creditors reconciliations on a monthly basis and authorizing for payment
• Development of staff in the group
• Manage performance, ensure that staffs have a clear sense of direction and purpose and also ensure internal promotions against identified succession plan. Staff performance is constantly monitored and feedback given both formally and informally and corrective action is taken timeously
• Recruit and select staff, all staff understand and live the Mission, Vision and Values for the property
• Applicable Human Resources policies, procedures and Legislation is applied in all Staffing decisions and staff are made aware of all rules, regulations, policies and procedures which affect them
• Departmental meetings are held to keep staff informed of developments which affect them – minimum weekly and are minuted
• Overseeing the daily administration of the various bank accounts in the hotel
• Review salaries and casual wages for the hotel and authorize payment
• Preparation of tax schedules for the hotel on a monthly basis for head office
• Liaising with other hotels/companies in the group and agree the intercompany balances
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register and verification of assets in the hotel
• Advising competencies on processes, routines and disciplines in the hotel
• Overseeing the Coordination of the interim/financial year end and related tax year end in the hotel
• Implement financial policies and procedures
• Attend monthly stock counts and prepare monthly and yearly stock packs and question variances before any write offs
• Overseeing the hotel together with the assistant GM in the absence of the General Manager
• Identify Capex in line with Special Projects and operational requirements, source costings and compile Capex Budget
• Plan Capex projects according to the business and financial cash flow requirements
• Implement all audit requirements and rectify deviations thereof
• All departmental items are sourced and purchased according to The Purchasing Manual and purchases are made within budgetary guidelines. Compliance with Financial and Audit Procedures regarding all Hotel purchases are achieved
• Board Packs prepared in line with Unit formats and deadlines for Managed Properties
• Adherence to requirements of all non-financial audits; timeous rectification of deviations from standards implemented
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
• BCom degree
REQUIREMENTS
• Must travel within South Africa (up to 3 months away from home at any given time)
