Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of a Financial Controller.

Key Performance Areas
• Assist with and compiling monthly analytical reports used in the reporting process
• Variance analysis of reported results to forecast and prior year
• Assist with and compiling monthly commentary used in the reporting process
• Ensuring completeness of the consolidation by performing checks and controls to ensure all units are included in the consolidation accurately
• Investigating and analysing accounting treatment and ensuring accurate reporting in terms of IFRS and group accounting policies
• Able to prepare consolidation entries for group reporting under the guidance of senior team members
• Ensure allocations are in accordance with the chart of accounts and assist with the maintenance of the chart of accounts
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required
• Review and analyse management accounts and raising queries with the units on variances between actuals vs. prior year vs. budget vs. forecasts
• Assisting with the preparation of the board reports on a quarterly basis
• Assisting with the annual external audit process through compilation of required working papers.
• Drafting of medium-small entity annual financial statements and assisting with the preparation of the group annual financial statements
• Ensure adherence and compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Assisting in preparation for the reporting of interim and year-end financial reporting (IFRS)
• Ad-hoc reporting, functions and analysis to meet the requirements of management

Required Qualifications / Experience
• B.Comm Hons OR B.Compt OR CIMA
• 4 year + : Experience in group consolidation role/team
• Group accounting experience essential
• Excellent working knowledge of excel
• Automated consolidation system experience (Insight, SAP BPC) would be an advantage
• Caseware experience would be and advantage
• The group finance division team is responsible for the accurate consolidation and reporting of the group results, actuals, forecast and budget
• Ongoing improvement of the systems and processes of the reporting landscape to enhance efficiencies and accuracy
• The Financial Controller forms part of the team responsible for the above
