FINANCE DIRECTOR - SOUTH AFRICA
Reports to Managing Director & Vice-President

A Pharmaceutical Company based in Modderfontein, Edenvale, has a vacancy for a FD.
The Finance Director (reporting to MD & Vice President) manages and oversees the local finance team to deliver accurate and informative financial information in support of the business objectives. Supports the local and regional Business Leadership by providing insightful analysis on business performance (e.g. revenue, account, product reviews) as well as on new products and account strategy. The FD also manages and drives the strategic planning, budget and forecast processes.
Managing the Finance Team (Financial Manager, Accountant, Distribution Chain Controller, Finance Clerks)
Understand commercial matters such as branding, pricing, key account management, contracts and long term agreements, product development, and bidding process relevant to product portfolio, customer segments, and channels in which they operate
Be familiar with leading commercial practices, business intelligence, strategic analysis and industry trends including key industry players and business developments in India. Understand basics of the generics and complex products industry in South Africa.
Understand and anticipate how the overall market and key accounts may react to changes or updates to commercial strategies. Be familiar with applicable legislation and similar frameworks impacting product launches and pipeline in South Africa
Analyse and assess financial data to coordinate with business leadership to transform strategic imperatives into actionable results. Drive budget, forecast and management reporting of local business.
Create scenario building and business modelling, for specific marketing campaigns or actions. Understand cost structure supporting underlying pricing strategy. Support negotiating and closing contracts and adjusting terms and conditions
Participate in S&OP process including managing demand for products and services as well as procurement of materials and services. Participate in long term decisions impacting key account development and long term client value
Engage with all relevant business functions, to ensure an integrated approach to outline financial goals, performance metrics and alignment with the organisation's strategic objectives
Collaborate with relevant local business functions, to optimize inventory management and track progress of goals. Support new product costing to ensure maximum impact and sales. Provide necessary support and guidance for any tender processes
Certify controls and support Controller issuing financial statements and management reporting packages
Work collaboratively with local Commercial leaders to meet their business objectives. Maximize return on investment for marketing campaigns and targeted actions
Provide explanation for variances against budget and forecast. Minimize and address variances in revenue and account performance
Organize, manage and oversee performance of BU Finance team to ensure consistent alignment around financial procedures and priorities. Drive financial priorities in collaboration with the India Commercial Finance Lead
Produce timely and accurate information and insightful analysis to drive decisions by business leadership.
Ensure accuracy and timeous completion of financial management reporting.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration.
Chartered Accountant (SA)
6 - 8 years experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
Familiarity with a global organization doing business in multiple geographies.
Pharmaceutical industry background preferred.
