Financial Director


Location: Gauteng, Sunninghill


Type: Permanent


Salary: R1 million – R1, 4 million per annum (Negotiable on experience and qualifications)


Minimum requirements:



  • CA (SA) a must

  • 5 to 10 years accounting and financial management experience at a Senior Management level or 5 – 10 years experience at FD level in a medium to large size company with specific experience of setting up/streamlining a financial department through implementation of dashboards

  • Experience in commercial, financial and legal elements of Management and Accounting process imperative

  • Strong business acumen

  • Advance Excel

  • Must have managed a finance department


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage and improve all systems relating to: M&A transactions, tax compliance, legal, management accounting, cash flows, payroll, debtors, capital and purchasing functions

  • Comprehensive monthly reporting on a management and financial accounting level to internal customers as well as all shareholders

  • Manage all aspects of M&A transactions including all due diligence, legal, debt/capital raising, deal structuring and valuation work streams

  • Provide objective, focused and practical advice/solutions on all acquisitions, divestments and joint ventures

  • Post implementation reviews of new venture.

  • Review and recommend capital structure improvement / refinements

  • This candidate would have experience in implementing a financial system

  • Design and implementation of financial dashboard

  • Prepare and/or coordinate all investment proposals/presentations for submission executive committee and board of directors

  • Lead and manage the financial planning and modeling work for the Group

  • Oversee financial analysis and critically evaluate all major capital expenditure proposals

  • Provide analytical support to capital structure decision making, as well as implementation and the execution thereof

  • Perform ad hoc tasks.

  • Must be able to give strategic input as to business growth

  • Must have good all round business understanding
