A vacancy for a Financial Manager currently exists at the Passenger and Commercial Divisions of our client based in Sandton. Reporting to the Dealer Principal the successful candidate will be responsible an array of duties.

Applicant must have experience with Automate
Worked previously in the motor industry (Imperial, Unitrans, Supergroup, McCarthy)
Should be between the ages of 35 – 40 years old

Purpose of the job

Contributes to the development and implementation of the departmental accounting systems, policies and procedures. Supports the department through
the collection, processesing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source
documentation. Maintains complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial


Knowledge
• Government accounting standards (GRAP)
• Economic Reporting Framework including the standard chart of accounts
• Medium Term Strategic Framework (government priorities)
• Government financial systems
• Principles and practice of financial accounting
• Framework for managing performance information
• Departmental policies and procedures
• Organisational and government structures
• Applicable legislative and regulatory framework
• Public Finance and Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations and guidelines
• Public Service Anti-corruption Strategy and anti-corruption and fraud prevention measures

KEY OUTPUTS
• Preparation and analysis of Management accounts.
• Timeous preparation and implementation of budgets.
• Preparation of forecasts.
• Completion of relevant statutory returns.
• Oversee internal audits at the Dealership.
• Bank reconciliation.
• Issuing and posting of cashbook payments.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports timeously and accurately.
• Monthly reconciliation of General Ledger.
• Control petty cash.
• Ability to identify financial risks and implement solutions.
• Monitor current controls and report non-conformances immediately.
• Able to implement policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Business and financial acumen.
• Understanding of accounting principles.
• Good understanding of incentive scheme calculations.
• Sound knowledge of manufacturer and Imperial requirements.
• Knowledge of governance and compliance regulations and requirements.

• B Comm or relevant degree in Accounting
