We have a fantastic opportunity for a financial manager with a large corporate client, must have degree and minimum 7 years’ experience in financial management.

Ensuring sound financial control of the Gauteng Region
Manage a staff compliment of 9
Release all approved expense sheets on a monthly basis
Open and close time and expense sheets on a monthly basis
Process the monthly leave, mileage, overtime and subsistence reports for the salaries department
Oversee the daily operations and activities of the department, and Administer and monitor general workflow to ensure that work is performed and up to date
Compare invoices on the time management system with the following information on documentation supplied:
Run the payment file on the system daily to create the payment run
Create a payment file on online banking for payment
Prepare monthly report of all expenses paid to staff for scrutinising by line of service leaders
Responsible for vat returns and payments of 4 entities.
Provisional tax payments for 4 entities.
Liaise with and ensure that monthly printing have been received from the external service provider, and make necessary allocations to be journalised to the various departments
Allocate CSR and Social Fund contributions monthly
Complete and process the monthly payment of VAT
Close the General Ledger monthly and ensure that all relevant journals have been processed
Review payment requisitions for the office on a weekly basis
Process debtors’ receipts where short or over-payments have been made
Process forex returned by staff to appropriate vendor accounts
Perform weekly review and payment of Cashbook suppliers
Open and close new vendors on time management system
Review the daily PeopleSoft interface and make required changes to ensure that information is correct and up to date
Sign-off the timesheets of terminated employees
Attend monthly meetings held by the Finance department
Responsible for the recording all transactions and audit assistance.
Jointly responsible for the general ledger
Ensure that all staff are trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied.
Ensure that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increasing productivity.
Facilitate the creation of an environment and climate that promotes a positive and productive workforce.
Cost Management
Assist in coordinating the annual budget compilation process

Qualifications and experience
B Com Accounting
Honours an advantage
7 years’ experience in financial management
At least 2 years in a managerial capacity

Salary is negotiable on experience
