R800 – R 1, 5 million per annum

Job Description
Take full accountability for the Finance Department, Company Governance, IT, Human Resource and Company Secretary Responsibilities. Form part of the Leadership Team that determines the company Strategy and Direction. Report functionally to SAK, including all reporting requirements to IFRIS standards.

Key responsibilities:
Ensure the Finance Department is Quality Focussed
Lead constant improvement and optimisations of all process, Audit feedback and quality reporting.
Applicable relevant finance reports to be optimised and of such a quality to ensure the company can be well managed and continuously grows. (Month end commentary, analysis, improvements identified, etc.)
Ensure quality and accuracy of Finance Team Reporting, Data Acquisition and Systems.
Lead the analysis of the quality and effectiveness of IT/Accounting systems to ensure processes are optimised. (ERP systems to drive decision making, IT security, etc.)
Lead HR Department to ensure excellence in Talent Acquisition, HR processes and continuous improvements.
Ensure measures are in place to optimise the functions under the incumbent’s control.
Cost Leadership
Accountable for business analysis and cost saving investigations.
Lead the financial analysis and justification of fixed asset purchases (ROI, NPV, Payback, EVA, etc).
Develop Finance Tools and lead Feasibility studies (EVA, cost savings, pay back), especially for CAPEX.
Ensure Working Capital requirements are met and advise thereon.
Analysis of short term and long term funding requirements, including debt management.
Implement Monthly cost reviews, Projects/ Capex, Budget/Actual/Committed Costs/Variance to Budget/ etc.
PAYROLL authorisation and overall controls surrounding integrity of payroll process.
Leave authorisation and overall controls.
Salary reviews leadership (Increases, Bonus/ Incentives).
Provisions at month and year end.
Realised profit on FEC.
Oversee debtors & creditors management.
Lead overtime analysis and optimisation of shift patterns.
Finance Strategic Leadership and Delivery
Lead the Budgeting process and ensure a value added process based on templates, std. costing and benchmarking
Management and Leadership of Year End External audit process to extract the continuous improvement opportunities form the process
Lead the project team to close out audit findings within agreed time frames.
All reporting deadlines are sacrosanct
Support and lead Policy Development and Decision making
Provide leadership providing key finance indicators to help drive good business decision making.
Implement lean in accounting system –payroll, stock control, (less manual work – duplications of work).
Review of foreign creditors and debtors at month end.
Understand the legal and controls required when operating subsidiaries in Africa (South East /West/Central Africa) and how to optimise financial returns. (in particular Kenya)
Finance and HR team’s value add beyond normal roles, leading to WCM.
Asset registers management and accuracy.
Analysis of freight/incoterms and best practice as a major cost line item.
Lead a well – managed Stock Management system and processes (pre-post Stock count reviews, lead processes, develop team systems.
Corporate Governance and Legal
Fulfil the required Company Secretary role understanding relevant Company Law functions. (RSA, Kenya)
Lead, implement and audit Corporate Governance processes (procurement dual signatures, limits of authority, audit review and close out of finding)
Compliance with Group Finance Accounting (SAK) and all liaison related there to this function
Ensure MOI are complaint to latest Companies Act RSA.
Ensuring compliance to IFRIS standards.
Analyse and support CAPEX for Health, Environment and Safety requirements, in particular to ensure the legal entity remains complaint to the relevant legislation.
Submitting of SARS documents on time in full ( VAT, PAYE, SDL, income TAX etc.)
Utilisation of consultants where applicable and managing these relationships
Lead BBBEE Compliance.

Leadership and Management
Provide Financial Leadership to legal Entity.
Be part of the SASA Leadership team that drives the Business Strategy.
Lead the development and competence of the finance teams and the business.
Lead HR processes. (Performance Management, consistency, Lead by example, etc.)
Head up the entity when the Managing Director is travelling.
Provide leadership to the Logistics Team and process.

Job Skills, Education, Competencies & Experience:
CA qualification ESSENTIAL
Knowledge of IFRIS reporting
Affiliated to Finance Institution or Association
Have auditing, accounting and experience
Minimum 5 -7 years’ experience in a financial management role
Previous Management experience.
Knowledge of Tax, Vat, and SEA/ West Africa Tax laws
Fluent in English (working language)
Sage 300 ERP experience
Previous experience from a manufacturing environment definite advantage
