Financial Manager

PLEASE NOTE APPLICANT MUST HAVE A CA QUALIFICATION

Purpose: To ensure sound financial practices within the group, with specific emphasis on the drafting of financial statements, financial analysis, financial management and financial reporting. Co-ordinate internal and external audits with the relevant stakeholders.

Outputs
Key Function

Financial Strategy
• Advise and give input to the compilation of the final financial strategy
• Alignment with group strategy.
• Plans are executed and measured.

Budget
• Compile and integrate all divisional budgets, as well as those of other entities within the group, in presentable format (system) for executive
management.
• Advise on specific risks and guidelines and deviations.
• Minimum deviation between budget and actual (material deviation excluded).

• Conduct forecasts on budgeted figures.

Accounting
• Sound and effective accounting systems
• Monthly financial reporting to the management team and the group Chief Financial Officer.
• Compliance to legislation.

• General ledger reconciliations.
• Internal customer satisfaction.

• Overall bank reconciliation.
• Timeous and accurate reports.

• Manage and operate general ledger system.

• Authorise payments to sundry creditors.

Financial Management
• Monthly management of the cash flow
• Meeting service levels as agreed between parties.

• Compilation of the annual financial statements of Insurance Brokers and other entities within the group.
• Approved by the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.

Risk Management

• Summarise internal audit findings into reports for the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
• Minimum material findings.

• Coordinate and control the total external audit plan
• Findings complies with legislation.

• Summarise external audit findings into reports for the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
• Approved by the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.

• Manage operational ratios.
• Approved by the management team.

• Provide guidelines and advise on business insurance.
• No unforseen business risks.

Stakeholder Relationships

• Build and maintain strong, positive and mutually beneficial relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Sound, healthy and mutually beneficial relationships are built and maintained with leadersip peers, own team members and other divisions in

2. Requirements Profile

2.1 Qualifications
Chartered Accountant Finance / Accounting NON NEGOTIABLE
Certificate / Diploma Treasury Recommended / Desirable

2.2 Professional Status

2.2.1 Accreditation & Registration

Registered Chartered Accountant (SAICA) Essential / Minimum
Certificate: Fitness for Duty Essential / Minimum
License: Valid Driver's License Essential / Minimum
Certification: Structured Finance Recommended / Desirable

2.2.2 Legal Requirements

Comply with all legislative requirements, e.g. VAT, PAYE, LBS, ERP5s Essential / Minimum

2.3 Experience

Industry and Financial related Operational 2-5 Essential / Minimum
Industry and Financial related Management 2 (included in 2-5 years experience above) Recommended / Desirable
