The Financial Manager is responsible for management accounting, budgeting, operational accounting, financial control, coordinating and overseeing of the financial group reporting, as well as being responsible for the finalisation of the monthly financial process.

Job Specifications:

Ensure complete and accurate financial and operational accounting
Overall responsibility for financial control environment
Management of expenses within budget
Approval of purchases and payments
Ensure broker and insurer reporting is accurate and on time
Ensure premium collection and distribution is correct and on time
Ensure claim payments are correct and on time
Monthly management reporting
Assist finance team with queries
Ensure cash flow is maintained and funds are invested
Ensure checklists and guidelines are followed and completed
Qualifications & Experience:

Completed B.Com Financial Management/Accounting degree (completed articles will be an advantage, for audit and risk control purposes)
CA qualification advantageous
A minimum of five (5) years’ financial experience within the short-term insurance industry
Ski system experience (Genasys system) will be an advantage
Must have demonstrable experience in financial and management accounting
Must have demonstrable experience in short-term accounting and financial control
Must have demonstrable experience in group reporting
Skills/Competencies:

Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills (minimum English and Afrikaans)
Systems Skills and knowledge (Excel, Genasys & Various Internal Systems)
Good management skills – managing of a small to medium sized financial team
Interpersonal Skills
High level of accuracy
Good Time Management Skills (Planning and Organizing)
