Our client, a food manufacturer in the south of Northwest Province, is looking to employ a Financial Manager for their food production unit. The position reports to the General Manager of the Unit.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree with Accounting and Auditing as majors.
• Strong management reporting background.
• Computer literacy (previous use of MS Office) and Accpac.
• Good analytical skills with a flair for numbers.
• Good accounting/costing knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Income Tax and VAT Acts.
• At least five years’ experience as a Financial Manager, preferably in the Food or FMCG industry.
• Clear criminal and credit records

Duties will include:
• Heading the Finance Function of Production Unit
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of financial and operational controls.
• Overseeing day-to-day accounting of transactions, ensuring controls on policies and procedures are in place.
• Authorising the vendor payment advices, before being sent to Head Office for payment.
• Review/approve all journals before being posted into the Accounting System.
• Review of all general ledger/other reconciliations, and follow up on all the un-reconciled items.
• Assist with finance related queries.
• Liaison with the Statutory/Internal Auditors.
• Adherence to the timelines of reporting to Head Office.
• Adhering to the SA GAAP.
• Ensure that the company’s system of internal Controls (with emphasis on Cash, Stock and Debtors) are in operation at all times.
• Budget and forecast preparation and assistance thereof to other departments in the division.
• Ensure all statutory returns (VAT, excise Duty etc.) are prepared and submitted on time at predetermined intervals.
• Staff management and motivation to ensure all financial and administration requirements are met.
• Ongoing system development in line with changing business environment.
• As a senior member of the company’s management team, provide various inputs (financial and otherwise) in the decision making processes.
• Any other related jobs on need basis.

We are looking for a strong communicator who can liaise with all levels of management. You will need to have a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary is R360 000 per annum negotiable on experience and includes company benefits.
